SOMETIMES I LOVE MY JOB

We’re currently running a contest where fans are encouraged to create a theme song for the Utah Jazz. At the end of the contest, we’ll pick a winner and play their song in-arena, on radio, etc.

Here's the video spot for it (notice Boozer’s enthusiasm, or lack thereof):

Here’s kind of stuff we’re receiving:

Until this one came in :):

I can't decide if this is the best or worst song I’ve ever heard. It makes me laugh every time I listen to it. Like it or not, you have to admit that it’s catchy. I’ve got it memorized, just ask anyone who sits within 20 feet of me.

BOND IS BETTER

There was a recent debate on the radio show I listen to during my morning commute. The question raised: who is a better character, Edward from Twilight or James Bond? Here are my thoughts: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! There is no debate. Bond is better. Simply look to the photo above for your answer.

Perhaps I am bias, as Nikki and I just saw Quantum of Solace last Friday. It rocked.

“How would you know? You didn’t even read Twilight,” you may say. Ah, but here is my latest confession, I did. (Granted, it was a book on tape, but that counts.) I was prompted to “read” it after Nikki chastised me for judging I book I hadn’t read. Big mistake on my part to accept the challenge.

It was, to say the least, a frustrating ordeal - six hours of a listening to a love-sick teenager describe her boyfriend’s handsomeness and her subsequent physical reactions to said handsomeness. How many times can his “marble chest” take her breath away? How many times will his “steely eyes” make her heart skip a beat? (Way too many.) But wait, he’s got a terrible secret! Something horrible happens to him when he steps into the sunlight…. ready for it? He glistens. That’s right, he glistens in the sunlight, making him even more handsome. What a terrible, scary vampire secret. (Please note heavy sarcastic overtones.)

FINALLY, when another vampire tries to kill her (and something exciting actually happens) the book ends.

I must give Stephanie Meyer credit, however. She is a talented writer. Using the following ingredients, she has concocted a recipe for the perfect, forgive the expression, “Chick Book:”

-An insecure and unassuming teenager becomes the "It" girl at her new school. Little did she know how truly beautiful and special she was!
-A modern dusting off of the Romeo & Juliet story. Forbidden love, etc., etc.
-A god-like boyfriend who is an intoxicating enigma of bad boy, cowboy & stalker. Oh, and did I mention that, for some reason, he only has eyes for her? “But why? She’s so plain!” Oh no, she’s the new “It” girl in town. She just didn’t know it.

Barf. Bond is better. Case closed.

*PS – I may be sleeping on the couch tonight.

October 31st -- Halloween Night

We had an awesome Halloween. We actually were able to get together with my entire family. My little sister and her family came down from Idaho to go trick-or-treating with their cousins. My parents were already in Utah and staying with us. And my brother Tom is working here in Utah for a little while and got to come over for all of the chaos and fun!! All of the grand-kids went trick or treating and then ended up at our house for more sugar and fun!!

Here is a picture of Anja and Kristian as Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit:

Here is a picture of all of the grand-kids:
We had a Vampire, Asian Princess, 2 Pirates, Superman, Alice in Wonderland & the White Rabbit, so much fun!!

This is Brendan's favorite picture of the night, all of the Moms taking pictures of the kids and trying to get them to hold still!!

Girls Weekend -- San Diego

Last weekend, some of my girlfriends decided to take a trip to San Diego for a Girls Weekend. We had so much fun, hopefully we will make it an annual event. There were 7 of us that went and had a blast!!

One of the highlights of the trip was taking a "Haunted Tour of San Diego." The tour guides, I think flunked out of acting school but still made it very fun. They put us on a bus and drove us to different sites in San Diego that are supposedly haunted . . .I think we did more laughing than getting scared, but all in all it was a very fun adventure.

The weather was absolutely perfect for us, in fact it was so nice .. we were wishing we would have planned a beach day.
Here are some of my favorite pics from the trip:
Here is us on Coronado Island: Trina, April, Jill, Jayna, Camille, Emily, and me.

This is us on the boardwalk down by the GasLamp District!!

We took a drive to La Jolla and took a little hike out to the coast to watch the Sunset. It was an amazing view:
